Patch repair materials are now specified in BS EN 1504 part 3, and their site application is in BS EN 1504 part 10. Most damaged reinforced concrete structures will require patch repairing before other corrosion control procedures are applied. The matching of surface textures and colours, the use of architectural coatings as well as the use of coatings that control ingress of water, carbon dioxide and chlorides is an important part of repair design for buildings such as the historic listed ziggurats of the University of East Anglia.
